In the latest episode of City Stories, we bring you to Cres, a small island in Croatia. We talked with Franjo Toić, public official at Cres municipality & Ugo Toić, Director of the public Island Development Agency OTRA. Both are involved in Apsyrtides, the local energy cooperative, also a replication site for the SCCALE 20-30-50 project.
Despite a difficult regulatory framework, thanks to their enthousiasm, creativity and the inspiration and support provided by the Green Energy Cooperative and other international frontrunners, they are about to design a voucher model in cooperation with the water management company to allow residents to co-finance smaller solar projects.
